League Rules Committee
The purpose of the EMFBL Rules Committee is to act as a sounding board for the Commissioner regarding new rules, rule changes and rule interpretations. They are also in place to offer input regarding any concerns or issues that have occurred within the league where rules need to be clarified. If the Commissioner suggests a new rule, or rule change to the committee for feedback, he will most often scrub the change or follow through with it depending on the committee’s thoughts on it.
The rules committee does not officially cast a verdict regarding any league disputes but will give guidance to the league Commissioner for resolving any issues or concerns that arise. In most cases, the Commissioner will explain the situation and then offer up two or more suggestions for a course of action and seek the committee’s input. If the committee is unanimously in favor of one of the suggestions, the Commissioner will go with the favored result. Ultimately, the Commissioner will cast the final verdict based on the input he has received from the committee.
The only time the rules committee will cast a final verdict will be for any disputes involving the Commissioner’s franchise due to the conflict of interest. If this occurs, the Commissioner will explain the issue to the committee, and they will choose the best course of action in which the Commissioner will adhere to.
If there is a dispute regarding a rule clarification, the Commissioner will advise the committee of the issue so they can offer feedback on what they interpreted the rule to mean. The Commissioner will use this feedback to correct the wording or purpose of the rule.
Again, in all disputes not involving the Commissioner’s own franchise, the Commissioner will cast down the final decision on that dispute after seeking feedback from the rules committee.
League Etiquette Committee
The purpose of the EMFBL Etiquette Committee is to offer feedback to the commissioner should a league member become disruptive, or their conduct/behavior comes into question.
When the Commissioner feels that a league member has become difficult to deal with due to other manager complaints or other questionable activity, he will reach out to the Etiquette Committee explaining the behavior that is taking place.
The committee will offer up their feedback as to whether action should be taken towards the manager in question. Much like with the Rules Committee, the Etiquette Committee does not have the final say on what action will take place, but their input will be strongly taken into consideration by the Commissioner.
If a manager’s actions are deemed questionable enough for them to be removed from the league, the Commissioner will provide the committee with all the information on that managers behavior and ask the committee if the manager should be removed. If the committee is unanimously in favor of that managers removal, the Commissioner will adhere to that decision. If it is not unanimous, the Commissioner will cast the verdict on what the final decision will be.
It is also the responsibility of committee members to keep watch for any inappropriate conduct and alert the Commissioner and other committee members of what has taken place so it can be looked into.
Hall of Fame Committee
The purpose of the EMFBL Hall of Fame committee is to view the latest list of candidates and cast their votes to help decide who will be inducted.
Members of the committee can offer up suggestions for players who may not have been on previous ballots and have league statistics or records that could be deemed worthy of inclusion.
The Commissioner will provide the committee with he list of players eligible to be voted in and their votes will be the determining factor.
Message Board Administrator
The purpose of this member is to oversee the message boards and accept any new members creating profiles on the boards. The Administrator will also oversee any changes to the boards as well as keeping an eye out for any inappropriate posts that may take place and have them removed.
If you have any questions or suggestions regarding the message boards, you can bring them up to either the Commissioner, or the board administrator.
Player Use Monitoring
The league member in this position is responsible for monitoring player limits and advising the Commissioner of any players approaching any playing limits that they are not permitted to surpass. The person monitoring will also alert the Commissioner of any managers breaking the rules by using players beyond those allowable limits.
The Clubhouse Report Panel
The members of the Clubhouse Report get together once every one or two months to discuss league happenings and provide their feedback on current issues. The panel usually meets for about 60-90 minutes and will record multiple episodes.
The committee is responsible for going over league statistics from past and current seasons and preparing their opinions for any upcoming shows. The main episodes that take place each season is the Preview Episode, the Mid-Season Report, and the Season in Review episode. The remaining episodes will be discussing current league happenings or going over top ten lists.
There is options for guest panelists to fill in should one of the members be unavailable for a recording.
EMFBL League Rankings
The person responsible for the league rankings will take the league statistics provided by the Commissioner and calculate the league rankings on a weekly basis. Once calculated, he will provide the final results to the commissioner to post on the league website to keep manager informed of where their team currently ranks on the season.
